100,000 Page VIews!

This blog about Malta has reached the giddy heights of 100,000 page views in just about exactly one year and one month from the first article.  When I started writing the thing, I naturally assumed that I would get about 100,000 page views a week, but the first months efforts having resulted in about 600 I was quickly forced to reevaluate and guessed that I would be a very old man by the time such a milestone was reached.  So I am very pleased and delighted that we have made it there while I can still get around without the aid of a walking stick.

So here are some stats and such, because I know people like that sort of thing:

- Most Popular Post:
It's How to Get Around, by a decent margin.  Much thanks to Arriva, because if their site wasn't quite so rubbish then mine wouldn't be quite so popular.  And much more thanks to the inestimable 'Phil the Bus' for keeping me up to date with the latest info.

- Most Popular Breakfast:
I write a lot of posts about full English breakfasts.   A lot of people glaze right through them - I know - but it gives me an excuse to indulge in my favourite unhealthy food.  If by some horrendous quirk of fate I find myself on death row somewhere, you know what I will be ordering for my final meal.  Anyway, Huggins was the most visited page here, prompted more I think by the artful photo which managed a surprisingly high ranking in google than from the quality of the fare.  It was a decent breakfast Huggins, but you owe me!

- Most Popular Tourist Attraction:
That was Comino - and I can't argue with that.

- Most Surprising Consequence of Writing This Blog:
I think that being interviewed for Irish TV probably takes the prize.

- Most Surprising in General:
Getting enough people stopping by for this blog to get to number five in Europe (at time of writing) in the Most Viewed ranking of the good people at Expat Blog.  There are over 3,000 blogs registered there, so I am proud to represent this beautiful little rock against the big hitters of Europe.  In Your Face: Germany, England and Spain!

Cheers!
So anyway, I appreciate the visits and the comments, and hopefully we have helped some people out.  This is something I started doing to pass on what I'd learned and exercise the writing part of my brain at the same time, and I'm glad it's proved to be reasonably popular.  Hope you have enjoyed reading the odd post as much as I have enjoyed writing them.

Cheers!
